No Surprises in College Basketball Just After Christmas

Friday night was quite in college basketball as the only three ranked teams in action, Ohio State, North Carolina, and San Diego State, all rolled over their competition.

As expected, Friday night gave us no games meaningful to Selection Sunday. Each of these teams won at home against lesser competition handily.

Ohio State 71, UL Monroe 31
North Carolina 75, Northern Kentucky 60
San Diego State 115, St. Katherine

Saturday brings a lot of games and a number of meaningful games. The best game on the docket, without question, is Villanova at Syracuse. Nova is off to an unexpectedly hot start, ever since winning big in the Bahamas, and Syracuse's start is nothing to scoff at either. My money on a neutral court would likely be on Villanova, but being that this is at Syracuse, expect the Cuse to win. This game also means that we will have at least one fewer unbeaten team by day's end.
