Most of Wednesday's action consisted of the first round of many tournaments. So, essentially, most games involved teams far off the bracket bubble. A few involved bubble teams, but only one such team lost: Georgetown. Georgetown was pretty far off the edge of the bracket anyway, so it is not Earth shaking.
But before we get to all of the day's action, it is worth noting one win. American went to Boston U and pulled off the upset, advancing to the tournament with an automatic bid. It was a fairly shocking win for the way it went down. Boston U was dominated, scoring only 16 points in the first half and only increasing to 20 in the second. American was physical and overpowering on defense. You can officially count American as a winner in a potential first-round upset if it plays next week like it did today.
