Monday: Quiet Day

Most days, especially in December, are quiet when it comes to what might cause changes in the next bracket prediction. This Monday was not an exception, as the basketball world remained quiet after a busy weekend.

Connecticut 65, Florida 64: As Ken Pomeroy would probably say, there isn't much joy in a one-point home win. A one-point home win suggests that you would lose on a neutral site to the same opponent and by a much greater margin at the opponent's home. Still, this is the kind of win that you see up on ESPN's telecast in the week before Selection Sunday.

See? A quiet December Monday. One relatively important game. But there are far more interesting match-ups tomorrow, as the ACC-Big Ten Challenge gets underway, with Indiana heading to Syracuse, Illinois traveling to Georgia Tech, Duke hosting Michigan, Notre Dame going to Iowa, Florida State at Minnesota, and Penn State at Pittsburgh. Each of those games contains at least one team in my most recent bracket. Also, UMass heads on the road to Eastern Michigan and Colorado travels to a rivalry game at Colorado State. All of these games could represent important wins for teams involved, with a lot of interesting favored teams going on the road.
